Frederick W. Smith is chairman and CEO of FedEx Corp., a $64 billion global transportation, business services, and logistics company.

​

Smith is responsible for providing strategic direction for all FedEx Corp. and its operating companies, including FedEx Services, FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, and FedEx Freight. Since founding FedEx in 1971, he has been an active proponent of regulatory reform, free trade, and “open skies agreements” for aviation around the world. Most recently, he has advocated for vehicle energy-efficiency standards and a national energy policy.

Smith is co-chairman of the Energy Security Leadership Council, a trustee for the United States Council for International Business, and a member of the Business Roundtable. He served as chairman of the U.S.-China Business Council and is co-chairman of the French-American Business Council. He has also served on the boards of several large public companies and on the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Mayo Foundation boards. He was formerly chairman of the board of governors for the International Air Transport Association and the U.S. Air Transport Association.

Smith has received numerous civic, academic, and business awards, including the Global Leadership Award from the U.S.-India Business Council, the George C. Marshall Foundation Award, and the Circle of Honor Award from the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation. In addition, he is a member of the Aviation Hall of Fame, served as co-chairman of both the U.S. World War II Memorial Project and the campaign for the National Museum of the Marine Corps, and was named a top CEO by Barron’s and Chief Executive magazines.

Born in 1944 in Marks, Mississippi, Smith earned a bachelor’s degree from Yale University in 1966. He served as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966 to 1970.

Professor Kasarda is the leading developer of the Aerotropolis framework, defining the roles of aviation and airports in shaping 21st century business location, economic development, and urban growth.

 

He directs the Center for Air Commerce at the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School and is President of the Aerotropolis Institute in Zhengzhou. Dr Kasarda is also the author of over 150 articles and 11 books. He regularly consults with airports and governments around the world on airport city and aerotropolis development and is Director of Centre for Air Commerce of University of North Carolina (USA) and President of Aerotropolis Institute in Zhengzhou.

As the President and CEO of Pinnacle Airlines for 13 years, Trenary grew the business from a small private company earning $75 million annually to a publicly traded company over $1 billion in annual revenue. 

 

Before his time at Pinnacle, Trenary founded Texas-based Lone Star Airlines and served as chief executive officer from 1984-1996.  He earned a degree in Aeronautical Engineering Technology from Oklahoma State University.  He has three children, Justin, Brittney and Pearce, and two grandsons.

SCOTT BROCKMAN

Scott Brockman joined MSCAA in 2003. He was appointed the Authority's President and CEO in 2014 after having previously served as Executive Vice President and COO. Over Mr. Brockman’s 31 year career, he has also held executive management positions with Tucson International Airport, Des Moines International Airport, and Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport.

​

Brockman earned a B.S. in Accounting from Florida Southern College. He is one of approximately 500 active airport executives worldwide to be designated as an accredited airport executive (AAE), and also currently serves on the International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE) Board. Mr. Brockman currently serves as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and on the International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE) Board.  Brockman was awarded the coveted AAAE Distinguished Service Award in May 2013 and was named the Airport Professional of the Year by the Southeast Chapter in 2010 and 2012.

Mr. Dulberger has nearly 30 years of experience in local economic development, having served with public and private entities in New York, Ohio, and Tennessee. In 2011, Mr. Dulberger was appointed to be the first President/CEO of EDGE. He concurrently serves as the Chief Economic Development Officer for the City of Memphis and for Shelby County Government.


From 2008 through 2011 Mr. Dulberger coordinated a Memphis/Shelby County, five-year, public-private economic development partnership known as

MemphisED. Part of the broader Memphis Fast Forward initiative, MemphisED worked with 17 partner organizations engaged in various aspects of local economic development, including business retention/attraction/start-up, tourism, minority business development, talent attraction/retention, and innovation/entrepreneurship.

Before coming to Memphis, Mr. Dulberger led local economic development efforts for the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber (OH) and the City of Syracuse (NY). His work experience also includes policy analysis for the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development and the U.S. Department of Energy, both in Washington, DC. Mr. Dulberger holds a Master of Science degree in Public Management and Policy from Carnegie-Mellon University, and a Master of Arts degree in Government from Georgetown University. He earned an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Florida International University.

Mr. Dulberger holds two industry certifications – as a Certified Economic Developer (International Economic Development Council) and an Economic Development Finance Professional (National Development Council).
